PRE-LESSON – SELF LEARNING
- Before we get on this chapter, you need to read subtopic 8.1. and 8.2. first from page 128 – 135 of the textbook.
- Then, take out a piece of paper and fold it into 4.
- Then, you can draw and label the respiratory structure of insects, frog, fish and human in the 4 boxes of the folded paper. Behind the paper – you can make note of the adaptations of each respiratory structure.
4. After doing that, you need to compare and contrast the breathing mechanism of insects, frog, fish and human by using diagrams.
ONLINE LEARNING LESSON
DON’T FORGET TO TAKE NOTES
ACTIVITY ZONE: CONSTRUCT A MODEL TO SHOW THE ACTIONS OF DIAPHRAGM MUSCLES DURING BREATHING IN HUMANS.
or you can do the rib cage model using rubber band and ice-cream sticks

LESSON FOR 8.4. HEALTH ISSUES RELATED TO THE HUMAN RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
- I created a Google slide on Google classroom and assigned to each student
https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1FwLhbcjTCCaynNIAqMtiAID-PCCGHbPaJ0fklfLMWj0/edit?usp=sharing - Then, the students would do their research and complete their slides.
- Set a time and get them on Google Meet to conduct the presentation. You can go by students and picking perhaps one topic (For example student A – present on Asthma, Student B on Chronic Bronchitis and Student C on Emphysema and then repeat the list)
- I tried and my students were able to pull it off. I only had to teach a few on how to use Google Meet to present and it was quite easy.
- The video below helps for beginner level.
